48 h Chicago – A City for All Senses

Foodie Capital of the USA, impressive architecture, rich in culture, music and sports, and with its own pizza. Yet, few America enthusiasts venture to the third-largest city in the USA. The shadow of New York City skyscrapers looms large over Chicago. And yet, the home of the Obamas and Frank Sinatra’s favorite city may even have – dare one say it – more to offer than NYC.

Depending on the day you catch in Chicago, it can be quite chilly: the wind coming from Lake Michigan can be far from pleasant, hence why the city is also called the “Windy City.” On a calm day, Chicago reflects perfectly in the lake, and the view from the lakeshore to the skyline is breathtaking. One of the reasons to explore the city at ground level first before seeking your luck high up in the skyscrapers. Just like the colors of the Chicago River, flowing at the feet of the skyscrapers, Chicago is different every time you look in a different direction – or in a different neighborhood. Above all, Chicago is a city that wants to be experienced, not just seen.
