5 Luxembourgish restaurants among the best in the world

The world’s best restaurant directory, La Liste has just published this year’s list of the 1,000 best restaurants in the world.

There is not ONE best restaurant in this year’s List, but 7 tied for first place: Torsten Michel’s Schwarzwaldstube in Baiersbronn, Germany, Guy Savoy in Paris for the 7th year running, La Vague d’or in Saint-Tropez for Arnaud Donckele, L’Enclume in the UK, Le Bernardin in New York, Lung King Heen in Hong Kong and Sushi Saito in Japan.

Present in the first quarter, Cyril Molard’s Luxembourgish restaurant, Ma Langue Sourit, received a superb score of 95.5/100. “One point more than last year”, comments the chef on social media.

Four other gastronomic references from the Grand Duchy also feature in this worldwide selection: Mosconi (89/100), La Distillerie (84/100), Lea Linster (83/100) and Clairefontaine (80).

“Based on a compilation of thousands of press publications, hundreds of guidebooks and millions of online reviews, LA LISTE is the practical digital guide to gastronomy and travel that you can access from your phone anywhere in the world”, explains the organisation.

In the leading pack, close to Luxembourg, in France, we find two addresses in Reims, L’Assiette Champenoise (99/100) and Les Crayères (96.5/100) and one in Alsace: La table d’Olivier Nasti – Le Chambard (97.5/100), in Kaysersberg.

In Belgium, Hof ven Cleve in Kruisem (98/100), Boury in Roeselare (97/100) and Zilte in Antwerp (97/100).

In Germany, let’s not forget Victor’s Fine Dining by Christian Bau in Perl, with 99/100 or the Waldhotel Sonnora in Dreis (99/100)!
