A signature cocktail with your feet in the sand at Differdange? Or immersed in the wacky vibe of the Schueberfouer? The tiny silver truck of The Alchemist offers an inviting mixological break.
When you come across an American truck from 1976, all shiny and fluorescent, stop at once! It’s a friend. For three years, Kartik Sati has driven his aluminum Airstream, which comes straight from Chicago, to the biggest events in Luxembourg. Yet, The Alchemist is much more than a vintage trailer; it’s a real cocktail bar.
Straight from Chicago
“It has always been my dream to open a bar,” explains Kartik, who runs a funfair business. “One of my best friends is Raphaël Betti (a barman awarded many times and the man behind BAC in the city centre of Luxembourg), who inspired me to realize that dream. I followed some training courses and bought the Airstream. It took two years to fully equip it like a professional bar.” Now, Kartik can bring together his two passions: funfairs and mixology.

A Season of Funfairs and Festivals
His season starts during the funfair of Differdange in mid-April, continues through the one in Esch-sur-Alzette until the beginning of June, and then, The Alchemist settles in Luxembourg for National Day. It returns more quietly to Differdange for Diff’Beach before ending the annual tour at the Schueberfouer until the 11th of September.
At Diff’Beach, a Holiday Vibe
Feet in the sand, straw hat on, Kartik is currently staying at the Place du Marché in Differdange until the 12th of August. There, you can sip his signature cocktail made of Aperol, gin, and pineapple, simply called “The Alchemist,” while tanning on a sunbed.

The Friend of All Parents
The clients of The Alchemist aren’t only the young adults strolling through the funfairs. More so, they are parents who need a break after carrying their screaming children through the different roller coasters and food halls. We told you, he’s a friend!
