New In Town: Heringer Millen — An Old Gem in New Splendor

After the unfortunate closure of the traditional brasserie “Heringer Millen” in the Mullerthal region at the beginning of the year, there’s now exciting news: The popular establishment in Luxembourg’s Little Switzerland is reopening its doors.

Under the leadership of Chef Christophe Prosperi, who has already impressed with his restaurant “Victoria” in Berdorf, the brasserie will shine in new splendor with a revamped menu.

Quick Overview

The impressive Heringer Millen stands out with its spacious premises, perfect for private events. A special highlight for families is the extensive playground nearby, offering children plenty of space to romp around. Chef Prosperi has skillfully expanded the traditional brasserie menu with contemporary elements. Alongside classic dishes, juicy burgers and crispy tarte flambée now feature on the menu, modernizing the culinary offerings.

Why Visit Heringer Millen?

Heringer Millen presents itself as a versatile meeting point for various occasions. Whether as a refreshing stop after a challenging hike through the picturesque Mullerthal, a destination for a leisurely bike tour, or a place for a relaxed afternoon with friends and family — everyone will find their place here.

The adjacent adventure playground is a paradise for young guests, allowing parents a worry-free stay. The spacious interiors of the brasserie also provide the perfect setting for larger celebrations such as birthdays, communions, or even weddings.

The menu at Heringer Millen combines tradition and modernity. Alongside hearty burgers and crispy tarte flambée, there are also smaller bites suitable as appetizers or for sharing. Classic bistro dishes like Bouchée à la Reine or beef fillet round out the offerings.

Chef Prosperi is excited about the possibilities this new kitchen offers: “Our kitchen is huge and offers us many opportunities.” The pre-existing ovens for tarte flambée, for example, were a welcome surprise and were immediately integrated into the concept.

“We focus on regional and seasonal products, but not exclusively. Our menu consists of a mix of seasonal specialties and year-round classics. We’re still experimenting with our à la carte offerings to find out what our guests like best. The current menu is therefore not yet final,” explains the chef.

Ambiance

Prosperi already has a clear vision for the atmosphere at Heringer Millen: “A brasserie should always be full of life. At one table, a group of hikers enjoys a cool beer and a tarte flambée, while next to them a family delights in an ice cream sundae. My goal is to create a relaxed and cozy atmosphere where all guests feel comfortable. Heringer Millen should be a place for everyone.”

The spacious premises offer ideal conditions to make this vision a reality. In summer, the inviting terrace charms with its appeal, while the cozy interiors on two floors promise a comfortable atmosphere year-round. The large veranda also ensures plenty of daylight and an idyllic view of the surrounding nature of the Mullerthal.

Conclusion

The reopening of Heringer Millen under the leadership of Christophe Prosperi is a win for the entire region. As a talented and motivated chef who has already made a name for himself in the area, he brings fresh wind to the gastronomic offerings of eastern Luxembourg.

Prosperi shows gratitude and determination: “We want to build on the work of our predecessors. They breathed life into Heringer Millen for years, and that’s exactly our goal too.”

A visit to Heringer Millen can only be strongly recommended.

Currently, Heringer Millen is open from Thursday to Sunday, 12:00 to 21:30 with continuous kitchen service. Opening hours will be adjusted for next summer.
