The 2nd Open Air restaurant in Mondorf

The 2nd Mondorf-les-Bains Open Air Restaurant takes place on Sunday 2 July. The perfect opportunity to taste dishes from some twenty different chefs!

On Sunday 2 July from 11 am to 8 pm, come and take part in an exceptional gathering. Thanks to the Open Air Restaurant organised by the municipality of Mondorf les Bains and its tourist development and trade committee, you can drink and eat all day long in the restaurants, bars and winegrowers of the region.

Twenty-five food outlets

Altogether, there will be almost 25 different restaurants to choose from. Try Portuguese specialities from the Taverne Victor Hugo in Altwies, gourmet dishes from the Les Roses restaurant in Casino 2OOO, or shrimp croquettes from the Nid Gourmand.

Your kids are craving a hamburger after a trip in the bouncy castle? The Feier a Flam will be there to treat them (or you!). Is your sister-in-law craving pasta? Trattoria V’diterraneo will be delighted to satisfy her appetite. All this, while you sip a cocktail at Café, am Heim. As the time for dessert approaches, you’ll also have a choice of pastries from Hoffman, tarts from Domaine Thermal and Luxlait ice creams…

Dishes between 10€ and 15€

From sushi to cordon bleu, curried sausages to a red label salmon cake or entrecôte béarnaise, each dish will cost between €10 and €15. There’s something for everyone at this unique and friendly market.

Cooking demonstrations by Michelin-starred chefs

When it comes to entertainment, the Open Air has got what you need. From 12.30 pm to 6 pm, you’ll be able to watch no fewer than five cooking shows. “We’ve organised these events with the former Michelin-starred chef of the Les Roses gastronomic restaurant, Peter Koerner. He will be giving the first show-cooking at 12.30 pm, followed by four more during the day. He will also be inviting a number of chefs, most of them Michelin-starred, who are all friends of his,” explains the town’s tourism and business development committee.

Five euros for a show-cooking course

Cooking show? In other words: preparing a dish in front of an audience. Visitors will be able to sit around a long table in the centre of the 260-seat central pavilion. For 5€, they can go home with a plate of the dish that has been prepared. A plate donated for the occasion by porcelain manufacturer Rak, which they can even keep. All proceeds from these shows, which will also be shown on large screens, will be donated to charity.

A dish prepared by Léa Linster & co

As an icing on the cake, the final show-cooking will see the 5 chefs present cook at the same time and create a dish with 10 hands. Taking to the stoves to cook, Léa Linster, Peter Koerner, René Kertz, Bernhard Michel Bettler and Gilbert Welter.
