Luxair calls upon all artists out there for its new livery

In order to celebrate the art of travel, Luxair is launching a contest for artists from Luxembourg and the Greater Region to sketch their vision of the airline’s future.

This year, Luxair is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the first flight from Luxembourg to Paris in 1962. To mark this occasion, Luxair is launching a dedicated contest and invites all artists from Luxembourg and the Greater Region to draw their vision of the airline’s future through its next livery. As part of its #FlyingIsAnArt concept, artists willing to take up this challenge are called upon to demonstrate their creativity and to transport passengers on an extraordinary journey.

Following a first collaboration with the artist Sumo in July 2020, the colourful Boeing nicknamed “Sumo Fliger” or “Sumo Plane” was retired on February 26, 2022, to make way for its successor. The next artist who will see his work fly in the air will be chosen on the basis of the opinion of a jury, presided over by the artist SUMO — initiator of the #FlyingIsAnArt concept. In this way, Luxair aims to offer a flying experience that combines art and travel, conveying values such as inclusivity, diversity and daring across Europe and beyond.

Artwork submissions are expected until the 28 March 2022 at 11:59 pm.

All information concerning the conditions of participation and deposits can be found on the Luxair website www.luxair.lu.
