Meatballs with Tomato Sauce and Pasta

Ingredients

  • 200 g of pasta
  • piece of parmigiano cheese 
  • For the meatballs
  • 800 g of ground beef
  • 1 clove of garlic (finely chopped)
  • 1 onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 eggs
  • 50 g oregano (finely chopped)
  • pepper and salt
  • mix all the above ingredients and put in the fridge 
  • For the tomato sauce
  • 2 kg of tomatoes
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tbsp. tomato paste
  • 1 red onion
  • 5 sprigs of flat parsley
  • 1 bunch of basil
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil

Instructions

Tomate Sauce

  1. Cut the red onion into half strips and fry them in olive oil
  2. Finely chop the garlic and cook over high heat
  3. Once they are nicely browned, add the tomato paste.
  4. Coarsely chop the tomatoes and add them to the onion and garlic
  5. Cook the tomatoes until they have lost all their moisture
  6. Mix everything together

Meatballs

  1. Shape the meatballs and let them brown in a pan.
  2. Now pour over the sauce and simmer until the meatballs are cooked

Pasta

  1. Fill a pot with water and add salt (10g/L)
  2. Cook the pasta and drain when cooked
  3. Mix the pasta into the sauce
  4. Finely chop the basil and parsley and mix into the sauce
  5. Top with parmesan flakes
