Ingredients

  • Cevapcici:
  • 500 g minced pork
  • 500 g minced beef
  • 6 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tbsp. baking soda
  • 2 tbsp. salt
  • 2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 6 tbsp. sweet paprika
  • 4 tsp. hot paprika
  • 1 vegetable stock cube, crumbled
  • 30g olive oil
  • Djuvec:
  • 250 g basmati rice
  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 200 g spring onions
  • 150 g peppers (green or red)
  • 50 g carrots in small pieces
  • 80 g peas (frozen)
  • 200 g tomatoes in 2cm pieces
  • 20 g tomato paste
  • 3 tsp paprika (sweet or hot)
  • 100 g Ajvar (mild or hot)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable stock
  • 4 tbsp. tomato puree
  • 600 g water
  • salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 20 g olive oil

Instructions

Cevapcici:

  1. Put the pork and 3 cloves of garlic in the bowl, then chop for 3 seconds/speed 7. Transfer to a bowl and set aside.
  2. Place the minced beef and the remaining 3 cloves of garlic in the bowl, then chop for 5 seconds/speed 7. Add to the same bowl and set aside.
  3. Add salt, pepper, bicarbonate of soda, hot and sweet paprika, vegetable stock powder, and olive oil to the minced meat and mix for 1 minute/speed 3.
  4. With moistened hands, form about 30 meatballs and roll them on the work surface or in your hands to form small sausages.
  5. Place the cevapcici side by side on a plate and store in a cool place under cling film for at least 2 hours or overnight to allow the spice aromas to fully unfold.
  6. Heat a dry frying pan and grill the sausages.

Djuvec:

  1. Put the cooking basket on the lid and weigh out the basmati rice, then gently rinse it under cold water and set aside.
  2. Put the olive oil, onions, garlic, diced peppers and carrots in the bowl and fry for 8 minutes / varoma / speed 1.
  3. Add the tomatoes and tomato paste and cook for 4 minutes / 100°C / speed 1.
  4. Stir the bottom of your bowl with a spatula.
  5. Add the drained rice, salt, paprika powder, Ajvar, peas and water and mix well with the spatula and put on the Rice Cooking function and turn the dial to cook.
  6. Serve the Djuvec rice as a side dish.
