Ingredients

  • 4 pears (variety Conference)
  • 1 bottle sweet white wine
  • 4 tbsp of sugar
  • 5 cardamom pods
  • 3 cloves
  • 3 peppercorns

Instructions

  1. Peel the pears with a peeler.
  2. Dry roast the spices in a saucepan over medium heat for 3 minutes.
  3. Add the white wine.
  4. Cook the pears for 20 minutes in the warm wine.
  5. Remove the pears and spices from the saucepan.
  6. Bring the wine to a boil and reduce for 15 – 20 minutes.
  7. Serve the pears with the syrup.
