La Chambre des Métiers launches a nationwide campaign to promote the Arts and Crafts sector

La Chambre des Métiers intends to promote Luxembourg’s Arts and Crafts industry. In all parts of the country, the “Makers” will have the vocation of reinforcing the image of craftsmen – on posters, on television, on the radio and on the Internet.

The “Makers of Luxembourg” are “the women and men active in the craft sector in Luxembourg”, explains Tom Wirion, General Director of the Chambre des Métiers. And they should not remain unnoticed, quite the contrary. “Our campaign is based on a clear guideline, inviting craftsmen to be daring (go bold!), in other words to be confident and self-assured. The people in the photos are confident and strongly focused on their work.” The bright colours and eye-catching graphics reinforce this impression. The motto “Make. Shape. Create” expresses both an appeal and self-perception. “On the one hand, it describes the essence of craftsmanship: working, shaping and ultimately creating something new. On the other hand, it is an invitation to all of us to become active ourselves.” An appeal illustrated by the addition on the posters: “Be a Maker. Be a Shaper. Be a Creator.”

The “Makers of Luxembourg”, which was launched last year, is getting a makeover in 2021. In the meantime, the hashtag #makersofluxembourg has gained momentum, and the “Makers” now have several thousand followers on social networks. “It’s time to be bolder and more open”, says Tom Wirion. Indeed, although the campaign was initially dedicated primarily to holders of the “Made in Luxembourg” label, it is now intended to address the entire Luxembourg Arts and Crafts industry. A promotional film is at the heart of this reorientation, also entitled “Make. Shape. Create.” Its message? “Craft is meaningful,” says Tom Wirion. “It is a vehicle for enrichment and is simply essential.” Discover the film below.
