A barbecue in the Mullerthal

By the lake
The lake is the ideal destination for families who want to combine swimming, playing in the sand and eating al fresco.
- Remerschen: please note that barbecues are prohibited!
- Echternach: while walking around the lake, you’ll find picnic areas equipped with public barbecues.
- Haute-Sûre and Liefrange beach: barbecues are only permitted at the Fuussefeld site in Insenborn. Foodtrucks are also available in Insenbron for the less farsighted.
While watching a movie
As of 3rd July, Sunset Cinéma offers several dates during the summer months in different locations of the city (Findel, Kirchberg) and in the country (Esch, Colmar-Berg, Mersch, …) to enjoy films in the open air. A picnic in the heart of the city
Even right in the heart of Luxembourg City, there’s no shortage of places to take a gourmet break while soaking up the sunshine. Our top 3 locations:
- The Parc des Trois-Glands (behind the Mudam) offers an incredible view of the lower town.
- Parc de Merl: the perfect place for a family picnic. Especially since the city provides trampolines during the summer months!
- La Villa Vauban: As soon as you step through the gates, you forget you’re in the city because it’s so peaceful. Once you’ve finished your picnic (note: closes at 6pm on Saturdays and 9pm on Fridays), you can extend the evening at Bonne Nouvelle, just next door, with a glass of wine or at Mikrokosmos, the Luga pop-up bar of the team of De Gudde Wëllen in the city park just behind.
