For its second year of existence, the 2025 Michelin Keys awards have been revealed. In Luxembourg, Le Place d’Armes has become the first hotel in the country to receive a Michelin Key.
Launched in 2024, the Michelin Key distinction highlights hotels and accommodations offering a remarkable experience – much like the Michelin Stars do for gastronomy. Awarded by the anonymous inspectors of the Michelin Guide, these keys recognise the quality of welcome, service, comfort and, above all, the emotional experience lived on site.
One Key: the gateway to a remarkable experience
General Manager Mathieu Clausel expressed his pride in receiving this award for the first time: “Receiving the Michelin Key is an immense source of pride for our entire team. This distinction honours their daily commitment, passion, and constant desire to make every stay exceptional. It encourages us to continue striving for excellence, so that our guests always feel welcomed and cared for.”
Le Place d’Armes Hotel, a member of Relais & Châteaux, is located in the heart of Luxembourg City’s historic centre, within a collection of listed buildings. Inside, guests are immersed in the charm of period décor blended with contemporary design. Its 30 rooms and suites showcase elegant wood panelling, fine fabrics, and refined modern touches.

Other Keys in the Greater Region
Within the Greater Region, Le Place d’Armes joins the Domaine de la Klauss in Montenach (57), which has held a Key since last year. In Alsace, La Villa René Lalique (featured in the latest issue of KACHEN, available at newsstands) has also received a Key for the first time.
One Key: a singular stay
The 2025 edition includes 1,742 establishments distinguished with one Key.
Two Keys: an exceptional stay
Among those holding Two Keys is La Cheneaudière Hôtel & Spa in Alsace.
Three Keys: an extraordinary stay
Among the Three-Key holders are the great names of Parisian palaces, such as the Plaza Athénée and Le Meurice. In southern France, three Keys have also been awarded to the magnificent Domaine de Baumanière, nestled in the heart of Les Baux-de-Provence, where guests can also enjoy the three-star cuisine of Chef Glenn Viel.
