Kachen visited Durbuy the 6 and 7 July for the first Festifood festival in “the smallest town in the world”.
Around the cobbled streets and pretty grey stone houses, we went to meet some of Belgium’s Michelin-starred chefs. Cyril Molard, the 2-stars chef at Ma Langue Sourit in Moutfort (Luxembourg), was the only representative from the Grand Duchy. Accompanied by Paul Guénot, Mattéo and Louis, his youngest son, he treated diners to a delicate dish, as light as it was delicious : ravioli, ricotta from Luxembourg, verbena, beaten butter, watercress and… caviar.
Michelin-starred dishes for €10
Belgian 3-star chef Peter Goossens was also on board, as was chef Ralph Hermans, representing Netherlands with Rantrée, his 1-star restaurant in Maastricht.
16 Michelin-starred chefs served up dishes for €10 over four days in this flower-filled, bustling little haven of peace in Durbuy.
One thing’s for sure: you’ll want to come back!
For food lovers, the Festifood concept will be back in Mons for its 6th édition from 5 to 8 September.
