A Successful Premiere of KACHEN Movie Night!

Last Thursday evening, October 17th, marked the debut of our KACHEN Movie Night – an event dedicated not only to enjoying a great film and celebrating gastronomy but also to supporting a worthy cause. At Cinéma Utopia, we gathered our readers, friends, and some of the most prominent figures in Luxembourg’s culinary scene for a special evening together.

Notable Guests and Culinary Trailblazers

In addition to our readers who won their tickets through Instagram, we were delighted to welcome an impressive lineup of guests from Luxembourg’s gastronomic world. Pastry chef Alexandra Pancher, head chefs Caroline Esch, Julie Thiry, and Carole Lesquer, as well as author and TV chef Theresa Baumgärtner were in attendance. The highlight? None other than the grand dame of Luxembourg cuisine herself – Léa Linster – graced us with her presence.

Essential Support from Our Partners

An event like this is only possible with the support of our partners and sponsors: Le Gourmet provided delicious snacks before and after the film, Bernard-Massard served crémant for the reception. We thank L’Atelier Windsor and Genaveh for the treats in the goodie bags.

Our special thanks go to RAK Porcelain, who not only made the event financially possible but also made a significant donation to Europa Donna Luxembourg. Another big thank you goes to Kinepolis for their support in ensuring the smooth running of the evening.

Julie & Julia: A Film That Hasn’t Lost Its Shine Even After 15 Years

What film could have been more fitting for the evening than Julie & Julia? The story of two women who discover themselves through cooking sparked plenty of conversation. Meryl Streep as Julia Child and Amy Adams as Julie Powell brought the screen to life. Even though the film is already 15 years old, there’s no doubt that it still resonates today, both in its message and its humor.

Donations for a Good Cause

The evening wasn’t just about entertainment. For Europa Donna Luxembourg Asbl, which is committed to breast cancer awareness as part of “Pink October,” the guests generously donated 348 €. Thanks to our main sponsor RAK Porcelain, this amount was increased to 1000 €.

The first KACHEN Movie Night can definitely be chalked up as a success – an evening that naturally and aptly combined culinary arts, cinema, and social engagement. Guests left not only satisfied and content but also with smiles on their faces. This certainly won’t be the last time we invite our readers, partners, and friends to such an event. Stay tuned – perhaps you’ll be joining us next time!
