It is that time of the year again, our best spots beach bars up to date. We may not have the sea in Luxembourg, but we do have bars that feel like being by the beach, with sun loungers, palm trees and white sand. Here is Kachen’s non-exhaustive list of beach bars in the country.
CENTER
Lënster Plage – Junglinster
Covering an area of almost 1500 m2, Lënster Plage welcomes customers in a fully-fledged beach atmosphere: deckchairs, palm trees and sand, of course! Summer dishes at lunch and dinner, and concerts and DJ sets at the end of the day.
Hesper Beach Club – Hespérange
Open 7 days a week, its location in the heart of the Hespérange park makes it the ideal family place to spend a Sunday, with its swimming pool and beach area. The swimming pool is open to restaurant customers only. Burgers, pizzas and salads (one choice only) are available.
Playa Beach Club – Howald
Sand and cocktails are a given here, and when the sun is a bit hidden, well the summer vibes and music to evade are here to give you the smile anyway.
Summer op der Gëlle Fra – Place de la Constitution
As of 4th July, visitors can enjoy summer vibes in the city: Place de la Constitution is filled with palm trees, an urban beach with deckchairs, a pétanque court and catering stands. Good to know: The Trianon Cocktail bar from hotel Cravat will have a stand and mix delicious cocktails. Yes, Luxembourg is a great place to stay during summer.
EAST
Maacher Beach – Grevenmacher
The Place du Marché has been in beach mode since the 7th June, thanks to Bistro Quai and the town of Grevenmacher. The atmosphere is relaxed, and lends itself well to a break to enjoy the fine weather.
Sauer Park Beach – Rosport
As soon as you enter this restaurant, the decor, which combines natural wood and straw, sets the tone: a pure restaurant like you’d find in a seaside resort, but in the heart of Rosport. The magnificent wooden terrace invites you to extend your meal while admiring the younger guests playing in the sand in the garden.
Tiny Bar, Remich Plage – Remich
This small but sturdy bar sits quietly on the banks of the Moselle. You can enjoy a glass of wine, from the Moselle of course, comfortably seated in a deckchair under a straw parasol. It’s almost like being there! No reservations taken so arrive early to secure a sandy spot.
