Spanish Tapas

Gault & Millau Luxembourg has just named chef Eduardo Ramos, head of the kitchen at Podenco, Mediterranean Chef of the Year 2025. This is the perfect opportunity for us to list our top spots to enjoy authentic Spanish tapas.

Originally from Spain, tapas reflect the art of living in the Iberian Peninsula. For those less familiar, read our article here about tapas and their secrets.

Luxembourg City

Podenco

Eight years after their opening in Clausen, and two years after their move to the heart of Bertrange, chef Eduardo Ramos continues to offer high-quality Spanish tapas. You go there for authentic cuisine in a modern and welcoming setting.
What we love most are the weekly changing tapas suggestions, offering a new discovery with each visit. The seafood tapas are excellent (as is everything else): Galician-style octopus, shrimp tortilla, and fried “ortiguillas” (sea anemones).

1, rue de l’Industrie, L-8069 Bertrange.

La Taperia

In the heart of Limpertsberg, this traditional Spanish spot has delighted regulars since 2019. In a tavern-like decor, you can discover traditional tapas.
Enjoy a very good salmorejo (a creamy cold tomato soup), potato tortilla, and, of course, a fine selection of Iberian cheeses and charcuterie.

Origins

This wine bar and tapas spot has just opened a second location in the Infinity Center in Kirchberg.
Its first location at Cloche d’Or attracts local workers for a gourmet after-work experience, where glasses of wine from Spanish vineyards pair perfectly with tapas created by the chef.
You can order pimientos de padron, patatas bravas, and also octopus or tuna.

20 rue Charles Darwin, L-1433 Gasperich.

El Barrio

Another address in Kirchberg to enjoy tapas in a modern setting. In addition to classic tapas, the chef offers a selection of “montaditos,” which are small sandwiches filled with ham, foie gras, or tuna, as well as “pinchos,” slices of bread with vegetables or meat.

2 rue Erasme, L-1468 Luxembourg.

Southern Luxembourg

Fevi Gaudium

In Esch-sur-Alzette, head to this spot without hesitation to enjoy Spanish cuisine prepared by Catalan chef Fernando Andeu (Mediterranean restaurant Gault & Millau 2024). In a room with a modern decor and a view of the Gaalgebierg park, guests can savor delicious traditional tapas.
Try the various varieties of “croquetas” (porcini mushrooms, cod, spinach, etc.), marinated Iberian pork skewers, or fried anchovies, all accompanied by homemade sangria or a glass of Vermouth from Falset.

50 Gaalgebierg, L-4142 Esch-sur-Alzette.

El Gato

This other spot from the Manso group (like El Barrio), located in Leudelange, also offers traditional Spanish cuisine with a wide range of tapas. To accompany the dishes, you’ll find a selection of wines from Spanish vineyards thanks to a well-stocked wine cellar.

5 rue Léon Laval, L-3372 Leudelange.
