In the upcoming year, the metropolis of Osaka will host the World Expo for the second time after 1970. Over 150 countries will participate in this mega-event, with around forty of them having their own pavilions, including Luxembourg. From April to October, innovative future concepts will be presented under the motto “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.” An ideal opportunity to explore not only the lively city of Osaka but also the former imperial city of Kyoto, just a 15-minute train ride away, known as the cultural heart of Japan.

Osaka — History and Delights
Modern and welcoming, Osaka is the vibrant capital of the Kansai region, easily reachable in just over two and a half hours from Tokyo by the Shinkansen high-speed train. It exudes a relaxed atmosphere and is also known as a culinary hotspot in the country. While not as many historical landmarks and impressive temples as Kyoto, the third-largest city in Japan is definitely worth a visit!
Osaka’s landmark is the imposing castle of the same name, with a rich history dating back to 1583. A photo or selfie in front of this beautiful hilltop complex is a must in any Japan story! The Osaka Castle is surrounded by the gorgeous Nishinomaru Garden, a visual delight in every season.
