Back to school in Luxembourg means apple picking! And what better way than to pick your own apples in the multiple orchards of Luxembourg. Here’s a round-up of where to go to picking. And a selection of yummy KACHEN apple recipes.

Steinsel
The famous apple festival at the Vergers de Steinsel is ready to welcome all families to celebrate apples (and pears). During the weekend, you can stroll through the alleys where 15 different types of apple trees are planted.
Wheelbarrows will be available. Don’t forget your bags and boots!
You can also buy apple juice and apple crisps.

Minett
Did you know that the Minett UNESCO Biosphere Reserve is home to the largest orchard in the country? Discover the 12.5 ha Bongert Altenhoven orchard in the company of pomologist Richard Dahlem, who will tell you all about the history of this orchard and show you the different varieties of traditional fruit that grow there.
Tasting of historic apples and pears previously picked by visitors.

Differdange
Apple festival on the Place du Marché in Differdange. Of course you will be able to enjoy tasting of pies, and buy apple crisps and juices.
But above all, you’ll be able to squeeze your own juice: just bring empty bottles and… apples!
