Long Live Luxembourgish Wine!

Wine production in Luxembourg is more than just a craft””it’s an integral part of the country’s cultural identity. It’s no coincidence that it’s celebrated in the very first verse of the national anthem! For those looking to gain insight into Luxembourg’s wine scene or simply to celebrate it in style, the annual Fête des vins et crémants is the place to be!

Last weekend, wine enthusiasts from Luxembourg and beyond gathered at the Glacis to celebrate the diversity of Luxembourgish wine culture at the “Fête des vins et crémants.” The 19th edition once again offered indulgence, connection, and a nice start off into the festive season.

A Celebration for Wine Lovers

Under the Chapiteau on the Glacisfield, 45 winemakers from the Moselle region showcased their finest creations. The lineup ranged from renowned names like Domaines Vinsmoselle and Bernard-Massard to charming family wineries like Domaine Beck-Frank. Particularly noteworthy were the Crémants and modern interpretations of classic varieties like Pinot Gris & Blanc, Auxerrois, and Riesling. Visitors also had the chance to sample rarer varieties such as Gewürztraminer, unique cuvées, and the increasingly popular natural wines. Even traditional yet less favored varieties like Elbling and Rivaner were prominently featured on many tasting lists.

For an entrance fee of €25, attendees could sample as much as they liked.

Cheese lovers weren’t left out either””Fromagerie Schmalen from Berdorf provided expertly paired cheese platters to complement the local wine specialties perfectly.
