Menu Relaunch at Le Gourmet

Anyone in Junglinster who goes out for lunch will know Le Gourmet. The popular restaurant in the Langwies 2 shopping centre has long been a firm favourite – including with our editorial team, for whom it’s a regular lunchtime destination. With the launch of its new menu, Le Gourmet now strikes a careful balance between trusted classics and fresh ideas.

The new menu, introduced last Friday, features thoroughly updated dishes and a streamlined structure. Existing recipes have been technically revised, portion sizes adjusted and preparation methods simplified – all with the aim of working more efficiently while delivering cleaner, more defined flavours. The layout has also been restructured, with clearer groupings by plate size, main ingredients and culinary focus.

Simpler food, better flavour

Most main courses now come with a choice of five side dishes – including house-made chips using Luxembourg-grown potatoes. The kitchen has also stepped up its use of premium ingredients: Piedmont hazelnuts in the house nut spread, artisan Morelli pasta, and select products from the in-house delicatessen now feature across the menu. There’s an expanded range of lighter, vegetarian options, a broader choice of starters, and freshly pressed fruit and vegetable juices for an added healthy touch.

The new direction also includes subtle Asian influences: gyozas in several varieties and homemade sushi rolls – including vegetarian options – offer a refreshing change. These dishes are available both in-house and as part of Le Gourmet’s take-away selection.

The plat du jour remains a fixture at €16.50 but now follows a themed weekly schedule: Luxembourgish specialities on Mondays, pasta on Tuesdays, meat dishes on Wednesdays, fish on Thursdays and burgers on Fridays. It’s a structure that brings both rhythm and variety to the week.
