New In Town: FLOW — Mediterranean Delights

With the opening of “FLOW” on the ground floor of Hotel Cravat, Luxembourg City gains a new culinary destination. FLOW focuses on Mediterranean cuisine with a modern twist and brings a fresh breeze to the traditional establishment.

Thanos, the founder and Hamburg native with Greek roots, knows Luxembourg well through family connections. “With my first own restaurant on the ground floor of Hotel Cravat, I was able to fulfill my dream,” he proudly shares.

In Brief

FLOW serves Mediterranean dishes with influences from Greece, Italy, Spain, Turkey, and Southern France. From breakfast to dinner, the restaurant offers a diverse menu in a relaxed atmosphere. The wine list complements the offering with a selection of local white wines and Mediterranean red wines.

Why Go to FLOW?

With its central location and comprehensive offering for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, FLOW is a popular spot for working people in the capital. Guests can drop by in the morning for a coffee and a small snack. On weekends, the restaurant is ideal for a sociable afternoon or evening with delicious tapas and a glass of wine or two.

“The idea was to offer not just Greek cuisine, although I’m Greek, but also the best of Italian, Spanish, Turkish, and Southern French cuisine,” Thanos explains. Currently, the menu is still in its initial discovery phase but already offers some particularly popular specialties: Among the most popular dishes are the souvlaki skewers and grilled octopus. Halloumi, imported from Cyprus, is another specialty that must not be missing from the menu. The wine list consists of a stable selection of local white wines and Mediterranean red wines that round off the culinary experience. Additionally, they are working on a Sunday brunch menu — definitely something to keep an eye on!

The Ambiance

The name FLOW stands for the philosophy of the establishment: “Go with the Flow,” Thanos explains. This relaxed and pleasure-oriented attitude towards life is reflected not only in the restaurant’s ambiance but also in the way guests are greeted and served. “Hospitality is the most important thing to us. Our guests should feel welcome, comfortable here, and ideally come back!” he emphasizes. The decor is modern yet cozy, with plenty of light wood tones, some plants, and comfortable upholstered chairs inviting guests to linger.

Conclusion

With its all-day offering and fusion of Mediterranean cuisines, FLOW enriches the culinary portfolio of the Old Town. Its casual flair could make it the new favorite address for food lovers. Moreover, it brings a welcome modernization to the traditional Hotel Cravat, which has been family-run since 1895. This innovation complements the fresh breeze already introduced in the hotel bar at the beginning of the year and helps the establishment achieve contemporary brilliance without losing its quaint charm.
