There are a couple of ways to achieve a great equation””carefully slicing the layered filo pastry of the baklava-to-be, for instance. Another way is through the perfect combination of a wonderful team and participants, a great location, quality kitchen appliances, and, of course, a baklava recipe.
On Thursday, January 16th, KACHEN & FATA came together at Miele headquarters, creating the perfect setting for a successful workshop. Under the caring guidance of FATA, participants learned how to prepare baklava.

FATA is a platform that aims to empower Balkan women in Luxembourg. Co-founded by by Amela Skenderović, Kosovare Sallahu and Medina ImÅ¡irović. FATA’s mission is to bring Balkan women together to share, grow, and celebrate their strength and diversity. Ten participants joined to learn how to make baklava, a dessert from all around Southeastern Europe. Recipes for baklava vary depending on the country of origin. This time, the featured recipe was taken from the latest edition of KACHEN, created by Amela Skenderovic. She inherited the recipe from her mother and has perfected it ever since she had her own oven. One striking aspect of the recipe is the careful cutting method, which requires a bit of geometric skill. Fortunately, both Amela and Kosovare passionately guided the participants’ hands through the process.
Miele headquarters provided the cooking space equipped with their latest technology, including the DGC 7860 HCX Pro steam oven, which ensured the baklava was cooked to perfection. Even with a bit more butter here and a little less filo pastry there, all ten desserts turned out crispy on the outside and deliciously juicy on the inside.
