
Ingredients
- 500 g Spaghetti
- 500 g Ground beef
- 1 Onion (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves of Garlic (minced)
- 1 Egg
- 60 g of breadcrumbs
- 60 g of grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Olive oil
- 1 can of diced tomatoes (800g)
- 2 cloves of Garlic (minced)
- Minced fresh basil
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Fresh basil (to garnish)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, onion, minced garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well and shape into small meatballs.
- Heat some olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the meatballs and brown them on all sides. Remove the meatballs from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add more olive oil if needed and sauté the minced garlic over medium heat until fragrant.
- Add the diced tomatoes, the minced fresh basil, salt and pepper, and bring to a simmer.
- Add the meatballs back to the pan and continue to simmer for about 20-25 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and the meatballs are cooked through.
- While the sauce is cooking, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
- Drain the spaghetti and place in the plates. Top with sauce and meatballs.
- Serve with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil on top.
