The 2022 edition of the “Gault&Millau Luxembourg” Guide

On the 25th of October, the winners of the new edition of the 100% Luxembourgish Guide, “Gault&Millau Luxembourg 2022” have been revealed. This guide (both in French and English) lists the restaurants and brasseries, but also “Pop” addresses, the best bars in the country, the best chocolatiers, and a selection of the best wines in the Grand-Duchy, the “Stars of the Mosel”.

Chef of the year 2022

Ryodo KAJIWARA, chef of the restaurant “Ryôdô” in Luxembourg Hollerich, has been rewarded as “Chef of the Year 2022”. This distinctive award is the recognition of the Chef’s meticulous precision, thoroughness, and resilience, as he opened his restaurant right before the pandemic started.

The other awards winners are:

  • Amore “Bar of the Year”
  • La Baraque “Pop of the Year”
  • Adeline Campestre (La Cristallerie) “Pastry Chef of the Year”
  • Giovanni Curcio (Fani) “Sommelier of the Year”
  • Njomza Musli (Léa Linster) “Restaurant Hostess of the Year”
  • Pavillon Eden Rose (the young couple Caroline Esch and Valérian Prade) “Newcomers of the Year”
  • OiO (Leonardo de Paoli) “Mediterranean Chef of the Year”
  • Paul Cabayé (Les Jardins d’Anaïs) “Young Chef of the Year”

Other awards and collaboration

The restaurant “A Guddesch” in Beringen, mostly working in food self-sufficiency, received the award of “Local Restaurant” 2022. This new award, in collaboration with “Sous schmaacht Lëtzebuerg”, aims at promoting the respect of the environment by consuming as locally as possible.

During the ceremony, Gault&Millau also announced a collaboration with Delhaize Luxembourg, that comes as a “Sélection Gault&Millau” label.

Finally, this year again, Gault&Millau Luxembourg is listing 17 new addresses. The guide is available in bookstore.
