“The First Floor” introduces Ben Ho as its new Chef

The First Floor”, the esteemed restaurant located on the first level of Scott’s Pub in Luxembourg, recently hosted an intimate dinner to introduce their new chef, Ben Ho. The event provided an opportunity for guests to experience an exclusive Discovery Menu paired with a selection of natural wines curated by Joao Russo.

“The First Floor” emerged over a year ago in Grund, Luxembourg, and quickly gained popularity with its blend of bistro-style ambience and inventive cuisine. Under the guidance of manager Joao Russo, the restaurant has garnered praise for its commitment to using local and seasonal ingredients, while striving to minimise waste.

Ben Ho, an experienced chef with a background that includes notable establishments such as Brus in Copenhagen, Denmark, the Johanna Maier restaurant at Hotel Hubertus in Filzmoos, Austria, and the Michelin-starred Pure & V* in Nice, France, now joins “The First Floor “team, bringing his culinary expertise and creativity to the kitchen.

For his first menu, he drew his inspiration from seasonal ingredients as well as his past experiences, creating dishes that are both simple and surprising. For Ben Ho, the quality of the produce is paramount, and it doesn’t take much to sublimate a raw ingredient.

The restaurant takes a circular and local approach by developing a reduced drinks and food menu, cleverly using ingredients between the bar and the kitchen to minimise waste. Every month, the chef renews his menu according to his inspiration and the availability of seasonal ingredients.

The addition of Chef Ben Ho marks an exciting new chapter for “The First Floor”, as they continue to innovate and offer guests a taste of creative and sustainable cuisine. By combining local ingredients, culinary expertise, and a commitment to reducing waste, it aims to provide a memorable dining experience for customers seeking something fresh and innovative.
