Enchanting Northern Greece – ULT Charter Flight to Thessaloniki (Origde)

Once again this year, ULT is offering an exclusive charter flight from October 2nd to 9th from Luxembourg to Thessaloniki with various hotels and excursion programs.

Discover Northern Greece with convenient day trips! During a tour of the green Kassandra Peninsula, you will learn, among other things, how to make a traditional pastry dish. The wild Sithonia Peninsula is undisputedly the most beautiful area of Chalkidiki after the inaccessible Athos region. The bizarre landscape with prehistoric rock formations, olive groves, and the natural harbor of Porto Koufo at the southern tip will enchant you! The easternmost of the three fingers is Athos. There is a unique monk republic, Mount Athos, or the “Holy Mountain.” Since its founding, access has been prohibited to any female being, whether human or animal. However, a cruise along the coast allows you to experience the magic of this unique landscape. From the ship, you have a magnificent view of the monasteries boldly built into the cliffs, where about 1,700 monks still live today. Thessaloniki is Greece’s second-largest city and the center of the north. The city tour starts from the highest point of the city, the Eptapyrgio. From this fortress tower of the old Byzantine city wall, you can enjoy a fantastic view over the old town, the center, and the Thermaic Gulf. Of course, you will also visit the Church of Agios Dimitros, one of the largest and oldest churches in the city, and the bustling Kapani Market. Another optional excursion will show you Philippi, one of the most important archaeological sites in northeastern Greece. You will see the Hellenistic theater, the Roman Forum, well-preserved walls, remains of basilicas from the 5th and 6th centuries, and the prison of the Apostle Paul.

Accommodation for this trip is at the Sani Beach Hotel** and the trip is available from €1275 per person in a double room including half board. If you are looking for pure relaxation in an exclusive oasis of well-being, we recommend the Ikos Olivia Hotel** with all-inclusive from €1490 per person in a double room. The hotel complex, which makes even the most demanding guests completely happy, stretches over 22 hectares directly on the Gulf of Toroneo.

The Olympic Riviera impresses with historical highlights at the foot of the legendary Olympus. Along the coast, there are long beaches, numerous sights, and small romantic villages. The program includes the temple ruins of Dion at the foot of the mountain of the gods, the ancient knight’s castle of Platamon, the ancient capital of Macedonia, Pella, with its famous excavation, and of course, the Meteora Monasteries. The monasteries are located in the Thessaly region, erected on 300m high rock pillars they boldly and seemingly unreachably rise from the plain. You can visit two of these spectacularly located monasteries, clinging to the rocks like eyries. Accommodation for this trip is at the Cavo Olympo Hotel*, available from €1740 per person in a double room. Experience nature & culture actively at Mount Olympus with the “Hiking on the Mountain of the Gods” tour. You will hike in the impressive nature of Olympus National Park, on the slopes of Ossa, which is also called a botanical garden due to its diverse vegetation, and visit the world-famous Meteora Monasteries. During a coastal hike, you can enjoy the magnificent view of the sea, along the way you will see salt pans. Overnight stay is at the Litohoro Olympus Resort and the trip is available from €1398 per person in a double room.
