5 bed and breakfasts to escape in the country

For those who haven’t yet escaped this summer – or those already back – we’ve handpicked five charming guesthouses for a weekend getaway where the phrase taking your time truly comes to life. Life is beautiful in Luxembourg!

Hazelnut House

Hazelnut House is a charming guesthouse created by Theresa Baumgärtner and her husband in a small village in the Müllerthal region. This former 1850s farmhouse has been lovingly restored into a warm and authentic retreat, shaped by the founder’s vision and dreams. Surrounded by nature, it offers the perfect environment to unwind, with cosy rooms, homemade cuisine, and tranquil landscapes. The simple, natural decor honours the soul of the house while creating a welcoming and peaceful atmosphere.

We love: the delicious food prepared by Hazelnut’s talented cooks.

Guestfarm Roudenhaff

Guestfarm Roudenhaff is a peaceful haven, ideal for hikers keen to explore the nearby Müllerthal Trail (Route 1), all while enjoying comfort and calm by the lake of Echternach. The guesthouse features five rooms, set on the grounds of a former dairy farm beautifully renovated by its new owners.

We love: the panoramic view over Lake Echternach.

B&B White Pearl

White Pearl B&B is located in Christnach, close to the trails of Müllerthal (Routes 2 and 3), in Luxembourg’s Little Switzerland. Visitors can enjoy the outdoor swimming pool after a long walk or relax in the sauna. Please note: breakfast needs to be arranged in advance.

We love: the pool – perfect for unwinding.

Eppeltree Hideaway Cabin

Eppeltree is a romantic hideaway cabin set in an orchard at the heart of a protected nature reserve in Eppeldorf. It’s part of a beautifully restored 1842 farmhouse perched above the village, offering sweeping sunset views. The orchard is home to Rambour apple trees and many others – pear, cherry, mirabelle, and more – making this a top pick for nature lovers looking for a tranquil escape amidst local wildlife and birdsong.

We love: evenings by the fire on the terrace.

B&B Pipistrelle

For city lovers after a weekend of shopping, museums, and dining out, this urban escape is ideal. Nestled in the heart of the Grund, carved into the rock, Pipistrelle offers four stylish and ultra-comfortable suites. In the morning, breakfast is served in the dining area – the perfect start before heading out to explore Luxembourg City.

We love: the cosy, cocooning atmosphere in the heart of the city.
