Here’s a list of places where you can go and share a meal with friends (or not, after all, it’s up to you).
We all know that sharing is caring! Since the pandemic and the urge to celebrate and share moments together, the concept of sharing plates popular in the USA and other city capitals, also became a trend in Luxembourg.
For the restaurant owner, sharing dishes means less waste, and for customers, it’s a guarantee that they’ll be able to try more of the dishes on the menu and not miss out on any culinary discoveries. But be warned, sharing dishes doesn’t reduce the bill – quite the opposite!
Um Plateau
One of the forerunners in this field, with a wide choice of dishes to share.
What are we sharing? We like the mini-burgers, the croque with Iberian ham and the razor clams.
Chinchin
This new address not far from the Cité Judiciaire offers a wide range of Chinese dishes to share, as is the custom in China where all dishes are brought to the centre of the table and shared by all.
What are we sharing? Bao bun, dumplings, egg rolls, prawn tempura and edamame.
Bao 8
Luxembourg has succumbed to the Bao craze and welcomed Bao 8 in the Gare district. You sit down at the bar to enjoy a cocktail accompanied by “Asian tapas”, as they called it there.
What are we sharing? Gyoza, beef tataki, yakitori chicken, and baos of course.
Bazaar
In the heart of the city, on Place Guillaume, this is a must-visit address for nibbling on Mediterranean-influenced dishes.
What are we sharing? Hummus, baba ganoush, kefta, falafel.
Schuman
After a total makeover, Schuman (previously Brasserie Schuman) in front of the Grand-Théâtre delights local workers with afterwork drinks and food to share of course.
What are we sharing? The cold suggestions change very often, but we love the ceviche or the perfectly seasoned iceberg salad. As for hot dishes, we love the arancini and octopus.
L’Avenue
Between 6pm and 10pm, customers can order tapas to enjoy in the beautiful brasserie-style dining room.
What are we sharing? Fried scampi, cod accras, mini-burgers, piments del Pardon or the classic charcuterie and cheese boards.
Pablito
This colourful restaurant invites you to travel with a cocktail in hand and Spanish and Latin American dishes in your mouth. Large choices of small plates to share.
What are we sharing? Tacos, guacamole, quesadilla, fried calamari or chicken croquettes.
