“The event that sets the tone for world gastronomy”

On Monday, March 31, no fewer than 600 starred chefs from all over France will gather for the world’s largest gastronomic event. “The ceremony revealing the Michelin Guide stars in France is an event of international scope, a highlight that sets the tone for world gastronomy. This meeting has a considerable media impact, and it is followed by chefs from all over the world,” explained Gwendal Poullenec, the international director of the Michelin Guide, to journalists from Paris and the Grand Est on Tuesday, October 15.

The crossroads between France, Germany, and Luxembourg

“Château de Malbrouck is located in the heart of the three-border country. We are gathered here to celebrate this crossroads between France, Germany, and Luxembourg,” Elisabeth Boucher, director of external relations for the Red Guide, wanted to point out.

A meal at Auberge de la Klauss

Logically, it was at Auberge de la Klauss, the sector’s most recently starred establishment in Montenach, that the group gathered the press around the region’s renowned chefs. For the appetizers, served in the Domain’s cellar, chefs Stéphan Schneider from Auberge Saint-Walfrid, Fabien Mengus from Arnsbourg, Loïc Villemin from La Toya, Frédéric Sandrini from Quai des Saveurs, and Bruno Poiré from Chez Michèle worked together. Then it was Benoît Potdevin’s turn, freshly decorated with a macaron for his restaurant Le K, to host the Red Guide’s management in his establishment. A refined meal accompanied by delicious wines from French Moselle.

A large gourmet market

On Sunday, March 30, it will be an opportunity for all gastronomes in the region to visit Metz to discover the Gourmet Village that will be organized in Place de la République in Metz. There, some 80 stalls will offer local products, demonstrations of expertise, wine estates… “It will also be an opportunity to meet media-famous chefs in person, and to taste the best of Lorraine,” explains Cédric Gouth, vice-president of the Grand-Est region in charge of Tourism.

Some 150 media outlets from around the world

The event on March 31, 2025, will be organized by Michelin France, Destination Moselle, the Grand-Est region, the Department, and the City of Metz. More than 600 starred chefs and hundreds of prestigious guests, along with some 150 media outlets from around the world, will be present, just a few kilometers from the border of the Grand Duchy.
