“Food waste” and at the end of the day “Money waste”? This happens less frequently when you buy unpackaged produce in an organic specialist shop. Depending on individual consumption habits and household circumstances, you can determine the quantities of many fruit and vegetables or eggs yourself. This reduces food waste, cuts packaging waste and saves money.
This is all part of sustainable consumer behaviour, as is ensuring that locally grown potatoes or carrots are preferred to those imported from further afield. Specialist organic retailers already take these criteria into account when choosing products from different suppliers.
Animal welfare, at the heart of Naturata’s values
In organic shops, everyone’s well-being is a central concern, especially the welfare of animals, which are reared in a respectful manner. This commitment is shared by Luxembourgish organic farmers (from the BIOG association) and other producers, who are long-standing partners. Reliability and fairness for all stakeholders are fundamental principles of the entire Oikopolis group, of which Naturata is a part. Local and regional organic producers have always been at the heart of this approach.
Good quality and good taste are also reliable, because the rule for organic food is: as few additives as possible. Only natural aromas and flavour extracts obtained from the fruit itself are permitted. For example, vanilla flavourings must be obtained from real vanilla pods.
