With the official opening of GridX in Wickringen on 18 September, Luxembourg has gained a brand-new hub for shopping, culture and leisure. At the heart of it all, however, is the TASTE food court. The concept: global variety under one roof, where you can sample dishes from around the world – without having to juggle between different operators.
Unlike classic food courts, usually a mix of well-known franchises and assorted independents, TASTE relies on a unified system. All stalls belong to the same operator, making ordering and collection far easier. Whether via large touchscreens, an app or directly at the counter, you can order from different kitchens at the same time, pay once, and get an SMS when your meal is ready. The aim: to make food courts far less chaotic and much more relaxed.

Around the world – one stop at a time
First stop: Smash, focusing on American burger classics. From simple cheeseburgers to smoky variations, juicy bacon toppings or a fried chicken version – hearty eaters will be happy here.
Cholita brings Mexican street food, with freshly rolled burritos, tacos in all varieties and grilled corn on the cob.
For smoky flavours, head to Blazed, where charcoal-grilled and smoked specialities such as Wagyu brisket, pulled pork, short ribs or roast chicken take centre stage.
At Mezze, a taste of the Orient awaits with Lebanese grilled meats such as beef or lamb shawarma, seasoned and cooked to perfection.

Those who prefer lighter fare will find two options at the green-labelled Health Corner: Chop Chop and Mana both let you build your own fresh salads and bowls – a good alternative to the heavier dishes.
Asian cuisine gets multiple stops. Dumbao serves fluffy bao buns filled with pork, beef or veg, alongside gyozas and chicken or prawn dim sum. Wochi is all about savoury crunch, offering Korean fried chicken, chicken karaage, pad kra pao or satay skewers. Soup lovers will be at home at Okhaï, with steaming bowls of ramen and phô. And Saki, the Japanese-inspired counter with seating, features sushi, sashimi, miso soup and wakame salad.
Italy is, of course, represented too. Vita serves pasta and pizza slices, while Fancini tempts with freshly baked focaccia topped with mortadella, Parma ham or Caprese.

Drinks, sweets and more
For thirst quenchers of all kinds, the Central Bar is the place to go. Alongside soft drinks and a wide selection of beers and wines, it offers long drinks and signature cocktails. From 6 pm, a Happy Hour makes many drinks – alcoholic or not – available at half price.

Coffee lovers will enjoy the Coffee Corner Extract, serving espresso, cappuccino and pastries. For those after a sweeter indulgence, Atelier Délices is pure bliss: crêpes, cakes, tarts, ice cream, milkshakes, waffles and plenty of other treats.

A look ahead: Studio Taste
Still under development, but already a highlight: Studio Taste. Conceived as a chef’s table, it lets guests sit right around an open kitchen while being served more refined menus. A small preview was offered at the opening, but the full concept will take a little longer – making a return visit well worthwhile.
