Nestled in the gentle hills of Alsace, not far from Strasbourg, lies a gem of hospitality — the four-star hotel Le Parc in Obernai. It is a place that has undergone an impressive transformation in recent decades, a culinary and relaxing retreat revitalized by a new generation, making my recent visit an unforgettable experience.
My last memory of Le Parc dates back to the 1990s. Back then, it was mainly the excellent cuisine that drew me in; the hotel’s tiny spa was hardly noteworthy. Today, the fate of the hotel is in the hands of a new, dynamic generation. Siblings Maxime and Marie Wucher, whose innate passion for hospitality is reflected in every corner of the house, have taken over the property from their father and are running it in the fourth generation. Their father was a visionary who sent his children abroad to study and work, giving them complete freedom in choosing their profession. A strategy that paid off completely, as both returned after years of learning and exploring with a solid education and rich experience to take over the family hotel. It is evident that their innovative ideas and attention to detail have breathed new life into the property without losing sight of its historic past.
