Metz to welcome 1,000 starred chefs and a Gourmet Village

On March 29 and 30, food lovers have a date in Metz. Surrounding the 2025 Michelin Guide star ceremony, visitors can explore the Gourmet Village and the Moselle Wine Festival.

As we previously announced: from March 29 to 31, Metz will become the most sought-after destination for French gastronomes. The reason: the largest gathering of French chefs (in other words, the largest gastronomic gathering in the world), the Michelin star awards ceremony, will take place there on Monday, March 31.

Nearly 1,000 top chefs

Before the ceremony that will bring together nearly 1,000 top chefs from France, the Moselle region will showcase its culinary delights over an entire weekend. The Gourmet Village and the Moselle Wine Festival will unite more than 40 restaurateurs, about 30 winemakers, artisans, musicians, and various entertainments — over two days, Saturday, March 29 and Sunday, March 30, at Place de la République in Metz.

Starred dishes between €7.50 and €12.50!

For prices between €7.50 and €12.50, you can enjoy dishes from Michelin-starred chefs from the Moselle region! Pastries will be sold between €2.50 and €7.50. All six starred restaurants will participate. Here are the dishes they will offer:

  • Toya in Faulquemont, by Chef Loïc Villemin: escabeche, rillettes, and perch soup from local rivers.
  • Le K in Montenach, with Benoît Potdevin: white and creamy leek and potato dish enhanced with truffle.
  • L’Auberge Saint-Walfrid in Sarreguemine, by Stephan Schneider: pike quenelle from the Gondrexange pond with Nantua sauce.
  • L’Arnsbourg in Barenthal, by Chef Fabien Mengus: salmon marinated with fennel and horseradish foam.
  • Quai des Saveurs in Hagondage, by Frédéric Sandrini: Mosellan delicacies.
  • Chez Michèle, in Languimberg, run by Bruno Poiré: chocolate caramel sabayon.

Other prestigious establishments, such as the Yozora restaurant, opened last year at the Pompidou Center in Metz and run by Charles Coulombeau (who already earned a star in Nancy for La Maison Dans le Parc), Alexis Baudin’s restaurant in Malling, or Sylvain Relativo’s 5e Saveur l’tre, will also offer their dishes between €7.50 and €12.50, as will many other excellent restaurants from the Moselle region.

Luxembourg will also be present

François Grosdidier, Mayor of Metz and President of the Metz Eurometropole, Martine Hansen, Luxembourg’s Minister
of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture, Patrick Weiten, President of the Department and Moselle Attractivité, and Cédric Gouth, Vice-President of the Grand Est Region, during the press conference presenting the Village Gourmand on 18 March.

The Grand Duchy, also a partner in the organization, will be represented in various ways, particularly through the presence at the Wine Festival of the Henri Ruppert, VinsMoselle, Clos Jangli, Krier-Welbes, and Alice Hartmann estates alongside the winemakers of the AOC Moselle. “The selection had to be made quickly,” simply explains Serge Fischer, director of Luxembourg’s Wine Institute (IVV). “So we launched a call, and those who responded first were selected.”

The Vatel Club of Luxembourg will also be present with its food truck, offering its traditional kniddelen with bacon or vegetables, accompanied by apple compote.

And Cyril Molard!

Another Luxembourger among the participants: Cyril Molard, chef of the two-starred restaurant Ma Langue Sourit in Moutfort. He is working with nine other chefs (the six starred chefs mentioned above, Michel Roth, patron of the Gourmet Village, Nicolas Streiff, and Thierry Hommel) to prepare a dinner for 650 people that will take place the evening before the ceremony, bringing together chefs, partners, journalists, and officials at the Saint-Symphorien Stadium in Metz.

All chefs invited to the Gourmet Market

Special highlight: on Sunday, March 30, all chefs participating in the dinner and attending the Michelin ceremony the next day are invited to visit the market. With a bit of luck, you might encounter some of the essential chefs of French gastronomy while strolling through the aisles!

A cashless event

Throughout the Gourmet Village, tickets costing €2.50 will be the only currency in circulation. Until March 25 inclusive, there is a 10% discount on packs of 10 tickets purchased online. On the day itself, it will be possible to buy tickets individually.
