40th Éiner Wënzerdag: Wine, Culture and Local Spirit

From 15 to 20 July 2025, the winegrowing village of Ehnen will host the 40th edition of its renowned Éiner Wënzerdag. This jubilee edition promises an enriching blend of heritage, artistic expression, regional flavours and genuine Moselle hospitality.

Beginning with a literary evening and art exhibition in the days leading up to the main event, the festivities culminate on Sunday 20 July. The entire village comes alive with wine tastings, culinary delights, live music and a host of cultural and family-friendly activities. A special highlight this year will be the live cooking shows by renowned food journalist Anne Faber.

Tradition and Celebration in the Heart of Ehnen

As per tradition, the Sunday begins with a festive Mass in the village church, followed by the blessing of the 2024 wine vintage. Mayor Claude Pundel taps the ceremonial casks of wine and grape juice, which are then shared with attendees as an aperitif on the square.

From midday, the narrow cobbled streets turn into a bustling village fair. Local winemakers showcase their finest wines and Crémants, associations and restaurants serve regional dishes, and live music brings a joyful atmosphere. There’s also a wide range of entertainment for children and arts and crafts for all ages.

Art, Flavour and Creativity Take Centre Stage

The exhibition “Créatures fabuleuses au cœur des vignes” by Martine Marson offers a colourful journey into a fantastical vineyard world. Her expressive acrylic and mixed-media works are inspired by Pop Art and Art Brut, inviting visitors to see nature through imaginative new eyes.

Gastronomy also plays a starring role. Anne Faber, known for “Anne’s Kitchen”, will delight audiences with two live cooking demonstrations at 4.30 pm and 6.30 pm. Her passion for local produce and creative flair offer an authentic taste of Luxembourg’s modern culinary identity.
