Nature in Its Purest Form

Just a few flight hours from the European mainland are the Canary Islands: seven very different islands west of the coast of Morocco. Right in the middle, almost circular: Gran Canaria.

Volcanic landscapes and mist-covered mountains — one almost feels like being in New Zealand. But it also resembles a bit of Central America with its vast banana plantations and tropical rainforests. A touch of Asia can be experienced on the paradisiacal, bright sandy beaches. A hint of Africa lies in the dunes, inevitably reminiscent of Sahara regions. And North America is not far away either: the canyons, the boldly towering rocks, and steep cliffs are reminiscent of Arizona. Finally, a touch of serene Europe with old, small fishing ports and flower-adorned villages.
