Beautiful View at the Moselle

Nostalgic enjoyment at its best: One hundred kilometers downstream from our local Moselle, romantics can indulge themselves at the Art Nouveau hotel “Bellevue” in Traben-Trarbach – excellent cuisine, exquisite wines, and a relaxing spa program included.

A visit to Traben-Trarbach on the Moselle not only makes the hearts of wine lovers beat faster, but also delights architecture enthusiasts. In Europe, metropolises like Brussels, Paris, and Vienna are considered strongholds of Art Nouveau, yet few think of a charming town on the Middle Moselle as an open-air museum for the “Belle Époque”. Especially the Hotel “Bellevue” impresses with its typical ornate door and window frames, floral ornamentation, and colorful stained glass. Hotelier Matthias Ganter has been running the four-star superior hotel since 1992, which he considers “great luck.” Like many houses here, this one also comes from the pen of architect Bruno Möhring. The Prussian master builder was hired by wealthy families thanks to the flourishing wine business at the beginning of the 20th century and bestowed elegance and grandeur on the place. The “Bellevue” maintains this image to this day, shining with restored terrazzo floors, antique furniture and sculptures, fabric napkins and silver cutlery, and impeccable service appreciated by many regular guests. The house, with its 70 individually decorated rooms and suites today, already had room service when it was completed in 1903, and even today, guests are made to feel at home.
