D’Miselerland brennt!

For the second time, the Distillers’ Day is being extended across borders and will also be held in parallel in the German Moselle region on 22 and 23 October under the motto “Die Mosel brennt!“. i.e. “The Mosel is burning!”.

For 11 years now, different distillers on the Luxembourg Moselle meet at the traditional Distillers’ Day “D’Miselerland brennt!” to present visitors an unparalleled cultural and culinary richness of their distillates.

Promoting the distilling culture and their products across the border, the Moselle distillers reveal their high-quality raw products from the orchards, vineyards and fields of the Moselle region as well as their know-how of the craft.

The weekend will be filled with guided visits, animations for kids, walks and culinary specialties. One of these is the “Trüffen aus dem Miselerland” (chocolate truffles from the Moselle region) which consists in five chocolate balls, filled with a fine drop from each distillery. Created together with Pâtisserie Hoffman, this collaboration had served as a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Distillers’ Day. They will go into production again this year and will be available from the distillers on site

Some distilleries will organise a live distillation with explanations and tasting of their spirits. Five of these are Luxembourgish distilleries, who will open their doors this Saturday from 2 – 6pm and on Sunday form 11am – 6pm to offer their regional fine fruit brandies!
