Since 27th October, Luxembourg-Findel Airport has been offering five flights per week to Rotterdam. This connection to the diverse, second-largest city in the Netherlands is provided by Luxair.
On 14th May 1940, a hail of bombs descends upon Rotterdam. The port city burns brightly until dawn. About one-third of the approximately 3000 victims resulting from the invasion of the Netherlands by Hitler’s troops are to be mourned after the “Rotterdam Blitz”. However, the tormented city quickly got back on its feet. The perseverance required for this is still evident in the mentality of the residents.
