Julien Lucas: World Champion of “Lièvre à la Royale”

It is in Sologne in Romorantin, within the framework of the Journées Gastronomiques grand format, that the starred chef Julien Lucas of La Villa de Camille et Julien (Luxembourg) was crowned world champion of “Lièvre à la Royale”!

After a first selection round, Chef Lucas reached the final with 8 other candidates. His “Lièvre à la Royale” dish was judged by a prestigious jury, composed of great chefs: Jérôme Banctel, Stéphane Buron, Mélanie Serre, Christophe Pelé, Eric Robert (MOF), David Bizet…

The “Lièvre à la Royale” is certainly one of the emblematic dishes of French gastronomy, imagined by Louis XIV’s chef, Antonin Carême, who knew the king was a game lover. And for a king, nothing less than a hare “à la royale”!

“I’ve been training relentlessly for three weeks! The night from Friday to Saturday was very short because I drove 7 hours, after my service ended at 1:00, but the fatigue was worth it!” told us the chef.

Congratulations to him for this prestigious award!
