Medals for Luxembourg

We’re not talking about the Olympic Games here, but about the Concours Nationale des Crémants de France et de Luxembourg! The 33rd edition took place on 19 April in Limoux (Languedoc, France) and Crémants from Luxembourg were awarded!

Moselle from Luxembourg out in force!

The Moselle region of Luxembourg was the only non-French wine-growing region authorised to present its Crémants at the competition. The French wine-growing regions represented at the competition included some of the most famous: Alsace, Burgundy, Aquitaine, Limoux, Loire, Jura and Savoie.

The Crémants were blind-tasted in five sub-categories (Blanc Brut, Blanc Brut Millésimé, Rosé Brut, Blanc de Noirs Brut and Cuvée-Spéciale) by different representatives of the wine-growing regions.

Gold and silver medals

The professional tasters particularly appreciated the 40 or so Luxembourg samples presented. In total, Crémants de Luxembourg proudly won seven gold medals and four silver medals.

“The praise from the professional tasters once again underlines the commitment of Luxembourg producers to excellence and their ability to produce high-quality crémants” according to the press release.
