Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • â…› tsp ground cloves
  • 1 l cloudy apple juice
  • 2 cm fresh ginger, sliced
  • 60 ml Calvados or rum (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the brown sugar, cinnamon and cloves in a small bowl.
  2. Gently warm the apple juice in a pan until it starts to steam—it should not boil.
  3. Add the sugar-spice mix and ginger to the pan, cover and turn heat to the lowest setting.
  4. Leave to steep for 10 minutes. Stir in the Calvados or rum, if desired, and serve.
