Ingredients
- 3-4 ripe bananas (depending on size)
- 220 g flour
- 2 level tsp baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- 130 g sugar
- Â 100 g butter (room temperature)
- 3 eggs (room temperature)
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder
- 150 g chocolate chips
- For the topping:
- 1 banana
- A few chocolate chips
Instructions
- Peel the bananas and mash them in a large bowl. Add the sugar and butter and mix with a hand mixer.
- Add the eggs one at a time and continue mixing.
- Sift in the flour and baking powder. Mix for 2 minutes until a smooth mixture is formed. Add a pinch
of salt. - Divide the dough into two halves. Add the cocoa powder and chocolate chips to one half and mix in well.
- Pour the batter into a cake tin, alternating layers of light and dark batter like a marble cake.
- To decorate, cut a banana in half lengthways and place on top of the cake. Sprinkle a few chocolate chips on top.
- Bake in the oven for 1 hour at 180°C (top and bottom heat).
