It’s in the heart of the Pfaffenthal district that Raphael Betti and his associate Lisa Metz Steffen have set up their own bar: BAC. A cosy place where cocktails and drinks come exclusively from Luxembourgish producers, a first in the country! We met with Raphael over a tasty cocktail, of course.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

BAC, for Bar \u00e0 Cocktails, is the new project of Raphael Betti (ex-Paname) and his business partner Lisa Metz Steffen (Steffen Group). A cosy setting with a subdued atmosphere, ideal to enjoy a 100% Luxembourgish cocktail. Indeed, the entire menu comes from local producers, giving you the opportunity to find and taste some real gems. “Initially, my aim was to promote Luxembourg and its producers without closing the door to international brands, but when I did my research, I quickly realised that it would be possible to offer a 100% Luxembourgish drinks menu since I wanted something unique!”<\/em> says Raphael. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was also the result of some great connections! Indeed, as Raphael points out, “I met all these producers myself, I forged bonds with them, we exchanged ideas and that’s also why I’m doing it!”<\/em> Moreover, the mixologist also wanted to reduce his environmental footprint by favouring short circuits. A plus, which makes the menu and this bar unique in Luxembourg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the menu, as you may have guessed, signature cocktails “easy to drink and to understand in which everyone can find something to their liking”<\/em>, a nice wine list, Diekirch on tap and the icing on the cake, small dishes to share such as hummus and its homemade flatbread or their “Plant Dogs”<\/em>, delicious vegan hot dogs. As for the price, count between 12 and 15 euros for a signature cocktail, and that feels good! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interior is intimate, with no frills, featuring a central bar from which you can admire the mixologists creating the different cocktails. On the wall, a relic from the old days. Indeed, during the renovation of the place, the team discovered a painting on the wall representing a woman on a motorbike, originating from a former biker bar that was in activity many years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raphael also tells us that “guest shifts are planned, with barmen and barmaids from Luxembourg since the country is full of very talented mixologists. We will also of course have international guests. The idea is that they can create unique cocktails with the local spirits we offer.”<\/em> Special evenings are also being planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BAC is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 5 pm until last elevator (1 am) as they like to say. Feeling thirsty? See you at 7, rue Vauban – Luxembourg in the heart of the Pfaffenthal district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A warm welcome, a savoir-faire, local and quality products: a mix that promises great evenings around one cocktail (or more).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
