KACHEN met the two partners behind Maya, a cocktail bar with South American flavours, located in the heart of the Place Guillaume. And one thing is certain, the change of scenery is almost total.

The craze for cocktail bars in Luxembourg does not seem to be ending anytime soon. Indeed, it is in the heart of the Place Guillaume that the Maya bar has opened its doors. At the helm are two leading figures of Luxembourg’s nightlife, Bob Krier (Gotham & Peacock) and Marc Grandjean (Bar:Bar, l’Apoteca, l’Essenza and la Chapelle).

The concept? A South American-inspired cocktail bar located in a listed building “which was originally a bar and we’re happy to revive this heritage”, says Marc. The decoration is based on warm tones, wood and South American motifs that will naturally entice you to have one or more cocktails. The logo (a Mayan motif) and the name undoubtedly invite you to a trip to Latin America.
